About Your TeacherJoey Miles is an Ashtanga Yoga teacher (KPJAYI Authorised Level 2) teaching classes in Leeds and Hebden Bridge, as well as workshops and retreats in the UK & abroad. He has a depth of knowledge that is hard to surpass, and when you combine this with a compassionate and broad influenced approach you know you have a teacher that can give you great insights into this wonderful practice.
The course contains 180 Videos spread over 33 Lessons. Everything you need to know in order to have a more informed and deeper practice. Each posture is broken down with videos on the vinyasa, the detail and homework if necessary.
This is the Traditional version of the course which will take probably close to eight months and you only get one posture a week. Each week a new lesson with all the associated videos will be unlocked. Once a lesson is unlocked you’ll always be able to go back to it. There’s just control on you going forward so that you’re not tempted to rush and do the homework.
There’s no time limit to your access so you don’t have to push. You’re invited to consolidate on where you are, take a break whenever you need to or even return to it several years later.
You should have a good foundation in the Ashtanga Primary Series Postures, have a regular practice and be free from any major injuries. You’ll get the most out of this course if you’re compassionate to your body and possess an inquiring mind that’s open to exploring variations.
The postures in the Ashtanga Intermediate Series can be extremely challenging, so you may need to spend several weeks or months even on the same posture. By no means is the idea that you race through the postures. Just remember to take it slow; there’s no need to progress to a new posture each week. Go at the speed that’s right for you and also stop when you feel you’ve met your potential at this time.
If you haven’t done the Primary Series Intensive you can try this Free Sample lesson to make sure you can view OK on your chosen device and get an idea of the layout and format. Enjoy this free lesson on Krounchasana.
I thought the course was great and lots of great ideas on how to prep for the postures. I also purchased Primary Series Intensive and felt the same way about that course. I like how it is broken down into sections which made it easier to remember and absorb. Thank you Joey!! – Debbie Saag
I highly recommend this online course that Joey and Stu have put together. The videos are really good and are helping me to approach the primary series from a different angle. You maybe worried that it isn’t the same as going to a studio but let me tell you that Joey’s explanations are just outstanding so don’t be afraid! If you like to approach things from different perspectives, get yourself a pair of blocks, straps and wall and sign in to this amazing course! – Jose Manuel Arancibia
